I love the animation of Kibellah's blade dance abilities. How she twirls around, leaping across the battle field leaving a bloody trail of fallen and dismembered enemies. I don't know, but it reminds me a lot of a ballerina's moves, albeit a really deadly one. A danse macabre.
Anyway, I want a ballerina music box but with Kibellah spinning on top of it. Dream merch.

Is there any Heinrix and Kibellah content that you find interesting?
Hi,
thank you so much for your question!
I find anything that involves Heinrix interesting, but regarding Kibellah specifically that he knows (from his own dialog on Footfall in act 4 when you talk with Chorda) that death cultists are often heretical and that Kibellah is a weak psyker (I am pretty sure he knows as the player can recognize it as well) and while he is observant and a little sceptical regarding her tarot reading (using her psyker powers although she doesn't realize it) he clearly sees her as a valuable asset and doesn't question her faith in the God-Emperor so that he even tries to recruit her into the Ordo.
Maybe that is just the lack of my lore knowledge, but I had assumed that her being an unsanctioned psyker (even a weak one but strong enough that other psykers notice and she get results) would be more of an issue for him, seeing how he is from the start keeping an eye on Idira out of the same reason. Of course, Idira is much stronger and therefore a greater danger but I would assume even weak psykers might be dangerous.
Seems like it is a difference if an unsanctioned psyker is directly in service of the Inquisition...
And additionally, that he seems to be fine with the Viszier reading the Emperor's tarot and the whole blood bath warning. Again, maybe my lack of the lore, but I would see a difference between someone in an official / high status appointed to read the Emperor's tarot and some death cult guy, even if it is the leader. The Viszier and Kibellah are psykers, they could like Idira just hear whispers from the warp that are not from the God-Emperor. But here Heinrix seems to be fine with it. I know he is devout but he has seen and experienced a lot (the worst - taking his dialog that he has long abandoned hope regarding human nature) and knows that death cultists are often heretic and he is dealing with unsanctioned psykers and still - still he believes them. That was kind of mind blowing for me. He is usually so sceptical but here it is like he wants to believe that it is a sign of the God-Emperor.
Tumblr media
And I was missing a reaction from him when Kibellah murders one specific guy in act 4 out of her own sense of justice and not based on the tarot. I always had her and Heinrix in my team and always walk between quests to each companion (and even the non companions) to see if there is something new to talk about but nothing. So actually I would have liked more interactions between them but that is just the usual limitation of resources I think.
Was there something you (or others - whoever wants to participate in the discussion) found particularly interesting?

Got the new DLC for Rogue Trader, what with the Death Cult Assassin and all, and let me tell ya folks. For a $17.99 expansion, I think it’s worth every penny. Not only does it make the game hornier by adding more characters, more dialogue options, listen, this thing adds a bath attendant you can ask to bring your followers in to have fun splashy bath time with you. It’s incredible, it’s everything I thought was missing from the game!
You can delve into your own ship and pry into the lives of your lower deck rabble, you can visit a neat shrine, go chill with the Astropathic choir, and although I have only played a few hours of a fresh campaign with the DLC activated, it looks like the DLC is restructuring old scenes by adding new characters and bridge crew! I don’t know how much they keep up with that, but act one does have a lot of fresh dialogue. It’s kinda awesome. If the whole game has new options worked in throughout, and it’s not just this first act, then I’d say the whole thing is well worth the price!
Kibellah, the new companion, is pretty fun too! I love throwing vials of blood at folks and hitting everyone around her after she does a big leap attack. Love me a weird fanatic too, so she’s great to have around if you want to hear some bullshit about webs, blood, and the Emperor’s Tarot. A fantastic addition to an already great group of characters.

Thoughts about the Void Shadows. Heavily spoiled, of course.
The execution of the DLC is excellent, adding to the larger story is something that I feel Kingmaker needed (though not so much with Wrath of the Righteous). Going forward I'd like to see more of this from Owlcat and I hope the new DLC for Rogue Trader will be the same.
But there are things that bother me.
I was playing a void born, so I was hoping to have some reactivity because the DLC focused on the issues of being void born, notably as a psyker. It's a outcast homeworld and an outcast origin.
Nah, the DLC treats your character as noble born on a Hive or Imperial world. I get why your character is treated that way, you're now Rogue Trader, but your character reacting as if they were always upperclass is an issue. Owlcat wanted to tell a type of story in this DLC, and it wouldn't work otherwise. Which is my second issue.
I loved the final villain and it's twist. However, there's something that feels off.
Warhammer 40K was created in the late 80s as a reaction to the conservative British government that was heavily satirical and bombastic at its release. stealing elements from other sci-fi franchises as well as from fantasy. The grim darkness was mocking conservative authoritarianism... until people really liked it. And then Gamer's Workshop became super earnest and began to back away from it's satirical roots. Instead of the Imperium being apart of the problem, people saw it as a necessary if not outright heroic without a trace of irony.
Owlcat, for the most part, went back to the roots in it's writing, being bombastic, darkly funny, but made no illusions the Imperium is part of the problem. This makes sense, Owlcat developers had to leave an oppressive government and they've had to deal with such a government for years.
However, there's an issue with the DLC.
Einrich Montag, who looks very much like Zach McGowan, is a blue collar void born who did good, pulled himself out of the lower decks and onto the Bridge. He seemingly pays it forward, showing concern to the down trodden and not trusting the upper class and upper deck dwellers and advocates compassion.
In his opposite is Joscta Sauterback, who leads security and many corrupted Enforcers (ACAB). She's sadist who uses her work to deal with her tendencies, and we see the horror show of living in the lower decks. On top of this, we have a death cult that is absurdly theocratic monarchists.
Guess what? The blue collar dude is actually born of a cult called Genestealers created by xenomorph knockoffs meant to destroy humanity - he was faking it the whole time! He was a 'good guy' to encourage the abused lower class to join his cult and their objectives.
The death cult? Was absolutely right.
Jocasta and her enforcers? Maybe they're a little corrupt but they are actually are good guys dealing with a hard situation who are Absolutely Loyal to the main character.
Oh, and there's nothing that you can do to improve your ship and the void borns lot in the lower decks in this quest. You're literally an Absolute Monarchist Space Queen/King you've got a Fanatic Conviction level in Iconoclast? Nope. Nothing. Even if you used to be a Void Born with a good chance of being born in lower or middle decks of your home void ship.
Authoritarianism is the best we can do in a Grim and Dark future - you can't even be an Enlightened Despot.
And that's my one big complaint about the DLC, the base game embraces the ironic and satirical roots of 40k while its entirely lost in an objectively great DLC.

[Void shadows spoiler] Kibellah's true romance path (synchronicity) vs regular romance path
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kibellah's final romance event, synchronicity edition ⤴ . I don't know... this is supposed to be the "True Romance" path but it's... so lackluster somehow. She doesn't even elaborate what "Grace of the Web" is... I mean, I could infer it out from what happened so far, like it means she can be her own person, love and all and not just a blade but.
Let's just compare it to the normal variant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I WILL CARRY THIS LOVE INTO THE EMBRACE OF DEATH. bye. Girl just lay me down at this point. LOVE. HEART EYES. ILY FOREVER. I AM UNWELL.
You get it.
Then in the true romance variant she hit you with this shit about death again when you're talking about love. Girl. NO!!!! Why is there so much less intensity in what's supposed to be the better ending?????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stop talking about the undying one. we need to make out right now. wtf? I want more of her and not of the damned cultist teachings again. I'm so bored, the whole point of this playthrough is to get her "better" ending and it's not better at all????
If you were playing male!RT, then in the true romance path, you two will have a child, but since I play as female, there's no such extra. Boo.
Rattling in my enclosure!!!
I'm going to go for her corruption path next playthrough. Hopefully it will be more exciting.
